Board & Train

$3,000 For A Three Week Stay

Midnight Sky K9 Services offers an in-home Board & Train program designed to provide individualized, immersive training tailored to your dog’s specific needs. This program allows dogs to learn new skills and replace unwanted behaviors more efficiently than traditional private lessons by combining structure, consistency, and real-life practice.

Program Overview

During this three-week Board & Train program, dogs work through foundational pet manners with an emphasis on developing a calmer state of mind, clear communication, and reliability in everyday situations. Training begins with place work and leash communication, which serve as the foundation for all other skills. From there, dogs are introduced to obedience behaviors such as sit, down, place, crate, and recall.

Each skill builds upon the previous one, helping dogs learn to regulate themselves, respond to guidance, and make better choices through clarity and structure.

Program Length

The Board & Train program begins with a minimum of three weeks. While many dogs make strong progress within this timeframe, training is not one-size-fits-all. Each dog learns at a different pace, and some may benefit from additional time to build confidence, clarity, and real-world reliability.

If an extension is recommended, it will be based on the dog’s progress and discussed openly with the owner before moving forward.

Skills Covered

• Loose leash walking and heel

• Sit, down, place, and crate

• Recall

• Off-leash capability when appropriate, using e-collar communication

Off-leash work is introduced only when a dog has demonstrated readiness, reliability, and a strong foundation. E-collars are used thoughtfully as a communication tool, not a shortcut.

What’s Included

• Three-week immersive, in-home training program

• Foundation work focused on calm behavior and leash communication

• One comprehensive go-home lesson

• Two follow-up lessons to support continued success

Crate Requirement

In order to be eligible for enrollment in the Board & Train program, dogs must be crate trained. Being crate trained means the dog is comfortable, settled, and quiet in a crate at any time of day, in a variety of environments, and whether people are present or away.

Crating is used as a management and safety tool within a home-based training environment to support structured rest, prevent overstimulation, and maintain a calm learning space.

Equipment

Training collars and e-collars are sold separately and are not included in the total cost of the Board & Train program.

Program Requirements

All dogs enrolled in the Board & Train program must be

• Crate trained

• Potty trained

• Up to date on vaccinations

• Non-aggressive

What Happens After Board & Train

On your dog’s go-home date, you’ll participate in a comprehensive one to two hour transition lesson designed to transfer the training from me to you. During this session, we’ll review everything your dog has learned, walk through handling and communication, and practice skills together so you feel confident moving forward.

You’ll have time to ask questions, receive real-time feedback, and learn how to maintain structure and consistency at home. This session is a critical part of the program and ensures training continues successfully beyond your dog’s stay.

Two follow-up lessons are included to support continued progress, troubleshoot challenges, and help refine skills as your dog settles back into your daily routine.
